Location: Chinchwad Gaon in Chinchwad

The original village core of Chinchwad and its most historically significant precinct, built up around the banks of the Pavana River. It is home to the revered Shri Morya Gosavi Sanjivan Samadhi Mandir, the centuries-old Ganesh temple associated with the saint from whom the chant ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’ is believed to draw its name. The gaon retains a distinctly old-town character with narrow lanes, traditional wadas, and a busy market around Chaphekar Chowk, in contrast to the newer residential colonies surrounding it. It remains a major pilgrimage draw, especially during Ganesh Chaturthi.
