Location: Chinchwad

One half of the Pimpri Chinchwad twin township and among Pune’s oldest urbanised suburbs, with recorded history traced back to the Maratha and Peshwa periods and further into the Yadava era. Its identity is anchored by Chinchwad Gaon and the Morya Gosavi temple, while the surrounding areas industrialised rapidly after MIDC’s development from the 1960s onward. Today Chinchwad functions as a dense mix of legacy residential neighbourhoods, an established railway station on the Mumbai-Pune line, and commercial hubs like Elpro City Square. It continues to expand along the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway and PCMC’s newer road network.
